ARTIST STATEMENT

“To be or not to be” isn’t just Shakespeare — it’s the question anyone asks when the world tries to make them invisible. My work answers it with presence.

I’m David Montalvo, a Mexican‑American actor turning Shakespeare skeptics into Shakespireños and reclaiming The Bard as El Bardito. These pieces fuse classical text with cultura, insisting that our stories belong in every room — center stage, not the margins.

Each piece is designed by me, inspired by my work with classical text and my life experience. Every purchase fuels my MFA training and helps push open doors that weren’t built for artists like us. This isn’t just merch — it’s representation you can wear.
